I just noticed something.

Does this render have orange peeling happening on the paint?

Don't tell Ferrari! I may never get the next version of the game if their lawyers get involved.

Looks like it to me, but could be a rendering artifact. Either way, it's realistic.

Well, it does appear to be there, which is pretty impressive. I doubt this is taken in Photo Mode, though, but a very thoroughly-rendered promo image. Still impressive all the same!

Water based paints. They will never look as nice as oil-based. But at least the people in the factories don't get lungcancer or something

Yup, its peel.

We've crossed right into the uncanny valley.

And yes, the F12 I shot had orange peel. Slightly ghastly on a half a million dollar car.

I think this was part of their improvement over Forza 4. They intentionally made the cars not looks so hyper-perfect. Instead, they focused on dirt and damage modeling. And apparently they've included the very real orange peel!

Paints should have texture. It could be as simple as this being the only paint shader they have so far. This one has a bit of a 'brushed' look to it, we will see if T10 takes the time to shade the paints different based on the car.

Yeah but...orange peeling usually denotes a subpar paint job. Ferrari's should not have subpar paint.

Edit: I bet orange peel smells better than ferrari when its on fire.

Honestly, it looks to me like they're just saving some processing power by not going full on with their anti aliasing in the reflection.
